Photography is art. Individuals will spend hours in museums and galleries analyzing a person's photographs for the meaning. Like painting photographs have a message, sometimes it will evoke sadness, happiness, a carefree attitude, and thought.

There are many techniques a budding photographer will learn to evoke the emotions they desire. One such technique is using artificial lighting. Artificial lighting is not always as fun and easy as sunlight, but you can use it to create some wonderful photographs once you know how.

Indoor lighting is often fluorescent and tungsten bulbs. Tungsten bulbs are used by professional photographers, as "hot lights" because of the high temperature they produce. In photography it is important to understand the temperature scale in relation to the colors they will produce. A hot light will produce more red and reduce the blue. Firelight and candle light though not artificial can be used in doors to create shadows and depth.

Artificial lighting needs to be moveable. Just turning on your home lights will not give you the desired affect. Instead it can wash out the subject, place the light at the wrong angle, or create too much shadow in one area. You need to have lights set up on tripods to change the angle to suit your needs. Rooms are small which is one reason over head lights can either be too powerful or not direct enough.

Artificial lighting has advantages over outdoor or natural lighting, but sometimes the picture turns out better with natural light. It might be a matter of preference or the desire of a client or subject for that matter. You never have artificial lighting outside for the most part; you usually rely on your camera flash to help with the picture quality. When you choose your lighting, look for the best lighting situation to enhance your subject and make your picture as natural as possible.

Wedding photography is perhaps the most important field because these are the special moments in life we want to capture. Portraits are important and often play a major roll in wedding photography.

In today's world a wedding photographer should have at least one digital camera at the professional grade and two film cameras. A successful photographer will have enough cameras to put appropriate lenses on and be able to switch memory cards in the digital camera with ease. They should also have a video camera run by another person to capture the entire wedding.

Wedding photography is about the moments that pass between your family and yourselves. The moment where you are looking at your betrothed with love written on your face when you think no one else is looking will make the best photographs. A wedding photographer needs to see these moments and capture them as well as obtain the portraits.

Wedding photography is often seen around the home with the portraits. The portraits of the bride holding her flowers, the wedding party posing, and the groom and bride together. The traditional wedding photography will include the hands with the shinning wedding bands placed on a pillow or wrapped around the bride's waist.

The arrangement of the wedding couple is as important as the photograph. The wedding photographer should be able to pose you while capturing the light and background.

Photography is an intricate profession and when you have an important day such as a wedding you will want the best. You may have ideas of the photographs you want and the wedding photograph will be glad to help bring those ideas to fruition. Photography is about lighting, catching those unguarded moments, and creating memories that will last forever.

With technology growing in leaps and bounds, digital cameras, too, have seen many changing faces and features...

With technology growing in leaps and bounds, digital cameras, too, have seen many changing faces and features. But to first understand which camera is best suited to your needs, you have to first isolate the purpose which your camera will serve. This is because every make and model of cameras has been developed to suit a certain blend of requirements.

Thus, although a high speed camera may be the best bet for a professional sports photographer, it certainly won't suit your needs if you're buying it to take along on your family fishing trip. Also, if you're very particular about the amount of dealing in your images, you would certainly de well to know that several of the sleeker, more compact versions are not equipped with many of the more advanced features as their primary purpose is to ensure portability.

Your second step would be to understand the world of digital photography. This would include familiarizing yourself with the most commonly used photography terms. For instance, you would need to know that an LCD is a screen attached to most cameras in addition to the viewfinder. This screen allows you to view your image before and immediately after you capture it, allowing to fine tune your focus and even re-capture the image if need be.

However, several cameras are equipped only with the viewfinder, thus compelling you to hold the camera at an arm's length while capturing the photograph. As one of the key requirements to a clear photograph is a steady and sure hand, without your face to rest the camera on, your image is at a higher risk of being distorted.

It is also important that you understand the difference between a digital and an optic zoom. Confusion which arises from a lack of understanding of these terms may result in you buying a camera which produces very unsatisfactory results. This is because while an optical zoom follows the conventional method of magnifying the image you are capturing, the digital zoom multiplies the pixels, which results in fuzzy and unclear images.

The number of mega pixels that your camera allows in the images determines the quality of the images. If the number of mega pixels is higher, the images are also of a better quality. You may also want to consider if the camera you have in mind is compatible with a stand to ensure more stability and lesser distortion.

If you're tired of cameras from Canon and Nikon, Look into the Konica Minolta Maxxum series of cameras...

If you're tired of cameras from Canon and Nikon, Look into the Konica Minolta Maxxum series of cameras.

The Maxxum 7D is a midrange digital SLR that can incorporate optical image stabilization with any lens. It has an Anti-Shake system that is remarkable in that it can be utilized with all lenses and also has a well-organized control layout.

The body consists of a hybrid of magnesium-alloy and plastic and is well-built and crafted. It includes a nicely contoured grip and feels sound. Without a lens, the camera weighs in at about 30 ounces, which is an ounce or two heavier than average for this camera class.

The optical system of the Konica Minolta Maxxum 7D has clearly been carefully thought out to make it possible to take great photos. The digital camera comes with a 6.1 megapixel resolution and an Anti-Shake device.

The Maxxum 7D offers a broad range of exposure selections. These consist of all four standard exposure modes; three light-metering modes (14-segment honeycomb, center-weighted, and spot); ambient exposure compensation either in half-EV increments to plus or minus 3EV or in one-third-EV increments to plus or minus 2EV. The sensor's sensitivity can be set to auto or from ISO 100 to ISO 3,200 in 1EV increments.

Other shooting settings, including exposure adjustments are controlled with thumb and forefinger command wheels. The white-balance control is one of the quickest and most flexible available, consisting of a rotating switch surrounding a button that ingeniously accesses several menu choices.

Of course there are some quirks I noticed in the Konica Minolta Maxxum 7D, and of course you want to know what they are. One such peeve is that the camera is slow to start-up. You are also restricted to one JPEG compression ratio in raw-plus-JPEG, and there is no way to avoid noise reduction processing in high ISO images.

If you’re looking for a respectable professional SLR camera to take shots with, then the Konica Minolta Maxxum 7D should be at or near the top of the list.

No matter what tip you have in play, make sure to check your results every so often during the fireworks display...

No matter what tip you have in play, make sure to check your results every so often during the fireworks display. Take multiple shots at the beginning and check on their quality and make adjustments as needed. Once this is done, you will not have to check after every shot, but do monitor your shots periodically to prevent having taken an entirely bad batch.

Find Out the Direction of the Wind Blowing - You want to shoot up wind, so it goes Camera, Fireworks, Smoke, or else they will come out hazy beyond recognition.

Shoot from a little further back and with a little more lens, you can set the lens to manual focus, focus it at infinity and you will not have to worry from that point on.

Take full benefit of zero processing costs and shoot as many pictures as possible (more than you’d generally think needed) in order to raise your chances of getting that “perfect” shot.”

Be prepared to capture pictures of the first fireworks. Should there not be much wind, you will end up with a lot of smoke in your shot. The first explosions are as a rule the sharpest ones.

Try out taking shots that incorporate a wider perspective, silhouettes and people around you watching the show. While your camera pointed at the sky can get you some wonderful shots, if you try for a different outlook you can get some shots that are a little less cliché and just as impressive. Including other elements than the fireworks themselves, such as people, buildings, landmarks or wider cityscape perspectives can create phenomenal photographs.

Sometimes the difference between taking great sunrise and sunset photography and shooting only so-so photos is the patience the photographer has in staying through the entire event.

Arrive early: If you are shooting in a popular area, by arriving early you can claim a good spot to watch and record the show. It may take time to set up your tripod and other equipment. Plus, for sunrises, you have a better chance of seeing birds or other animals and these can make for great silhouetted subjects.

Stay late: Clouds can change the color of the sky minute-by-minute. Twilight after the perceived end of a sunset may bask the sky in a colorful glow, and you don't want to be driving away from the scene wishing you had stayed just a couple minutes longer!

Have you ever wanted to display your treasured digital photo collection in the living room TV instead of your computer...

Have you ever wanted to display your treasured digital photo collection in the living room TV instead of your computer? It certainly makes sense to do this if you’re showing off your pictures to many friends or family members.

The most obvious way to display digital photos on TV is to make use of your digital camera itself. Most, if not all digital cameras these days come with a video-out cable. Simply connect one end of the cable to the video-out of the camera and the other end to the video-in of the TV. Simple as that – play back the pictures on the camera and they will display beautifully on the TV.

Another approach is to use a photo viewing device. One device I which has served me well is the SanDisk Digital Photo Viewer. This neat little device sits on top of your TV set and it accepts popular memory cards like CompactFlash, MultiMedia, Secure Digital, SmartMedia and MemoryStick as input.

I’ve also noticed some DVD players coming out in the market which accept memory cards as input. One of these is the Sampo DVE-631CF. It’s a reasonably priced DVD player which also allows you to play back MP3s and JPEGs from both CD-R/RW and CompactFlash Type I cards.

The best approach of all, in my opinion, is to convert your digital photos to DVD format. The DVD you create can then be played back in any DVD player to display all your pictures as a slideshow.

Have you heard of, “There is more than meets the eye?”
The images that are captured by cameras can make our eyes see things that have happened before...

Have you heard of, “There is more than meets the eye?”

The images that are captured by cameras can make our eyes see things that have happened before. Moreover, it enables the heart to wish for beautiful things to happen in the future.

These days, the biggest sellers in the camera market are the so-called digital SLR cameras. These are the modern gadgets that can trigger our creativity and seats of emotion.

Following are some point by point guidelines that should be considered to maximize the expense of your digital cameras:

1.	Simplicity
Zoom in to capture the part you want to emphasize. Thus, irrelevant objects or areas can be taken away or just allow them to soften.

2.	Rule of thirds
When capturing a moving object, it is advisable to capture them moving into the imaginary tic-tac-toe frame from one of the two sides.

3.	Shapes and lines
Capture a straight line at an angle by moving five to ten feet away to the side to capture at an angle.

4.	Vantage point
To add significance or emphasis to an object, take a picture at a lower vantage point. Increasing the height away from the object can reduce its significance.

5.	Balance
Pick out the dominant objects and arrange them so that they complement each other. However, unbalanced or asymmetrical objects are often more visually stimulating than balanced objects.

6.	Framing
You can use the frames of your windows to capture an outdoor scene. You can also use doors and walls of a building to capture a person a walking person.

7.	Indoor photographs
You can use natural lighting when you are taking candid shots so that the subjects will not be bothered by the flash coming out of the camera.

8.	Camera adjustments
Lowering the shutter speed allows the image to be more exposed to light. You must learn the proper length of exposure so that images will not appear as blurry.

9.	ISO speeds
Digital cameras have ISO speeds ranging from 100 to 800. The higher the ISO, the higher the camera’s sensitivity to light’s exposure. Be sure to master using this element along with the camera’s aperture and shutter speeds.

10. Lens/Filters
There are digital cameras that allow additional lenses to be attached to the main lens, or the lenses can be completely interchangeable.

Let's say you've taken a bunch of beautiful digital photos and you want to share them with friends and family. What's the best way to do this...

Let's say you've taken a bunch of beautiful digital photos and you want to share them with friends and family. What's the best way to do this? There are many options, from printing and burning onto CDs or DVDs, to emailing and uploading the photos.

You can share your pictures by having a hardcopy printout. All you need to do is get a good photo printer and some quality printing paper, then print away!usually print my photos from an inkjet printer (the Canon Pixma iP4000) using glossy photo paper.

The prints I get are very high quality.Of course, if you don't have a printer, you can still approach a photo kiosk to do the job, or even submit your images to an online photo print website.

Storing your photos on CD and DVD is a very good option for sharing photos, particularly if you have a immensely huge photo collection. The downside, of course, is that your family and friends need to have a CD player or DVD player to view the content.

Another option for sharing photos is to email them to to a friend or family member. I do warn you to be careful though. Make sure your recipient would like to receive the photos first. Bombarding him or her with a 10MB email containing photo attachments is not a very nice thing to do - it's best if you obtained permission to do so first.

A good alternative to emailing photos is to upload your photos to a website, then simply email the website link to your friends or family. This avoids the problem of huge email attachments. There are many online photo storage sites available. SmugMug is one of my favorite photo sharing sites.

The three main reasons include: freedom; money; and education.

To participate with Microstock is free and there are no set work hours, no bosses and most importantly, no due dates. Microstock pays money which is great given that photography isn’t a cheap endeavor.

If you are interested in learning about the commercial side of photography Microstock is also a great way to educate yourself. What better teacher than a global market of photo buyers?

Yes, Microstock is a controversial endeavor. You may have heard it is ‘bad’ for the industry. The microstock concept is relatively new as it only works with the Internet and high quality digital cameras. Because of that there are many professional stock photographers with strong feelings about the impact microstock is having on the industry.

Now you might be wondering, how much can I earn in microstock? That question depends on both the quality and quantity of photos you can produce. Many people who work full time and have a portfolio of 7,000 high quality images earn over $20,000 per MONTH!

On the flip side some contributors with only a handful of images earn just a few dollars a month. Like me, you will most likely find yourself between these two extremes.
